Thanks mate, any tips on how to introduce into tank?

Andras:
I always include a guide. They’re not very fussy. Pour some of the water out of their pot and replace it with tank water. Do this a few times over 30 minutes. Then, turn off the pumps and wavemakers and place the whole pot into the tank. You’ll have to weigh it down with something, otherwise it will float. Turn the pumps back on and they’ll crawl out on their own time.

Hi i’ve received my nudis,
however i’m having a hard time getting them to come off of the lid.
I don’t want to shake the tub hard but 2 won’t budge, any advice?

Was everything OK in the end?

T:
Yes i covered the other side of the pot so it was dark and left them to crawl there on their own since i figured thats why they were on the lid, took over an hour tho.
I placed the pot jammed under a rock however they laid eggs in there before they climbed out. They’ve since dispersed and i can’t see them anymore just waiting on the eggs to hatch.

Andras:
That was a clever solution, but you could have just shaken them a bit harder.

If the pot is not a bother, leave it in there. The eggs hatch in about 11-13 days. If it is a bother, scrape the egg off with the cut off pipette and shoot it into a crevice in t he rocks.

T:
i shook fairly hard but i was scared to but it got solved anyway. I plan on leaving the pot in for as long as needed. My tank is absolutely filled with aptasia.

Andras:
They should have a feast.

Hi there, update – the eggs have hatched in the last week but the babies are too small for me too see and i haven’t seen the adult berghia since.
I know this is normal but how long until i know they have survive and are getting to work?
I’m concerned they will get eaten by bristle worms or something and im in dire need of the aptasia taking care of.

Hey,

Yeah, the babies are very small. I have a few videos of them on my Instagram account (@berghianudibranch) I took under a microscope.

It’s a waiting game now. You won’t really know what’s going on until 6-8 weeks have passed. With a torch and lots of luck, you might be able to spot them after the lights have gone out.

After coming to the tank this morning disheartened that i couldn’t notice any missing aptasia and worrying about them continuing to take over and endanger my fish.
After a long desperate look i’ve managed to spot 8 berghia!!
All around 0.5cm long i don’t know if some are the adults tucked up all or all babies but damn growing fast. It’s reassured me that their progress is going to be compounding as the days go on.

Good news! And well done for spotting them.

These must be the ones that grew from that eggs you found in the pot. The timing wouldn’t work out otherwise. The eggs take 13 days to hatch, and they don’t grow this fast.

It looks like it’s only a matter of time now until all the Aiptasia is gone. The nudis are definitely multiplying in thank.

i’m having great success with the berghia now and some are getting quite big

How are the Aiptasia? Visibly reduced in numbers?

T:
Within the past week or so i’ve visibly noticed a big difference in aptasia. I should be able to find photos to compare

It’s coming up to the end of my aptasia.
What do you recommend i do with them once all the aptasia is gone?

Andras:
Catch as many as you can, give them to friends, trade them in at your LFS or sell them. If you play it right, you’ll have more money than you began with.
